The creation is the work of Niels van Swaemen and Kasper van Leek, the talented street artists and designers behind Studio Giftig. It was unveiled in the spring of 2016. Locals are proud that John Cleese visited Eindhoven to declare the tunnel open. Studio Giftig was founded in early 2007 by Kaspar van Leek and Niels van Swaemen. All through diversity and specialization in, among other things, illustrations and murals. In addition to the art academy and their experience as designers in the graphic world, both have a background and years of experience in the field of illustration and graffiti.

In 2017, Niels van Swaemen en Kaspar van Leek finished a vast project called 'Tunnelvisie' (Tunnelvision) for Eindhoven underneath the A50 highway. After a long summer filled with paid mural jobs, they were looking for an excuse to do some free work. With the help of the city of Eindhoven, they claimed a spot in the city center.
